Brent Brune

Owner / President

Brent has lived in Cape Girardeau his entire life and has deep roots in the community from graduating from Cape Central High School to being a third generation Brune football player at Southeast Missouri State University. He graduated from Southeast in 1993 with a degree in Industrial Technology. He worked as a Timber Broker for Timberline International from 1993 until 2006 when he decided to start his own business, creating Brune Forestry Products, LLC.

Brent still owns Brune Forestry Products, but in 2011 had the opportunity to purchase Stork Landscaping from his friend, Ben Stork. With Brent’s 20 years of expertise in the forestry industry, knowledge in production management and cost estimation, and lots of praying and sleepless nights, Brent took a leap of faith and purchased Stork Landscaping. He has not looked back ever since, continuing to grow and expand the company.

Mike Hamm

Vice President

Mike manages the production side of our landscape and hardscape design and installations. He has 24 years of experience in landscape design and construction, including running his own landscape business. His knowledge and experience in landscape and hardscape production are unsurpassed. Mike’s insightful creativity and meticulous attention to detail are second to none. He has a knack for taking clients’ visions and transforming them into reality.

“I like creating aesthetically pleasing and functional landscapes that our clients will enjoy for years to come. We care about your landscape as much as you do, we’re with you for the long haul.” Mike and his wife, Misty, live in Scott City and have two boys, Travis and David. In his free time, Mike enjoys fishing, antique shopping, working on his classic car collection, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.

Curtis Grenz

Irrigation System Manager

Curtis joined our team in 2015 and has been in the lawn irrigation and golf course management industry for more than twenty-five years. As our Irrigation Division Manager, Curtis designs, installs, and maintains all our residential and commercial irrigation accounts. Curtis is one of the best irrigation system troubleshooters in the business and is a state certified backflow inspector. He has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of irrigation management for commercial and residential properties and creates unique and effective solutions for projects of any scale. “I really enjoy being the person ‘on the job’ who can solve problems to get my clients the lawn they deserve”. Curtis lives with his wife, Cindy, of 28 years. He has a daughter, Amy (son-in-law Joey), a son, Ryan (daughter-in-law Eve), and two adorable gransons, Drew and Oliver. When away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing with his grandsons.

Richard Mattingly

Landscape Technician

Richard has been with Stork Landscaping since 2011 and has worked in the landscape industry for over twelve years. He uses his attention to detail, friendly nature and experience to do a tremendous job for us. His breadth of knowledge and hard working mentality make him a perfect fit with our company. “My favorite aspect of my job is seeing the finished product and how happy it makes our clients.” Richard spends his free time with his wife, Brenda and their children, Richard Jr., Begona, Santiago, and Venessa. He can’t live without his wife’s authentic Mexican cuisine and during soccer season you will find him cheering on his nephews in Perryville, Missouri.

Kyle joined our team in 2014. Kyle likes to play in the dirt so landscaping is a natural fit. Kyle is excellent at taking a design concept and installing it exactly as specified. He has a great positive attitude and really enjoys seeing a landscape project through from start to finish. “What I enjoy most about working at Stork Landscaping is the tight-knit, family atmosphere and how well we all get along.” Kyle’s parents are Rob and Marsha and he has a brother, Ty. In his free time, Kyle likes to go to RZR and motorcycle riding.

Jason joined our team in 2017. When Jason is not hard at work you will usually find him at a sports complex watching his two daughters, Lily and Clara play basketball and softball. He also enjoys fishing and all things outdoors. Jason is known to play practical jokes occasionally, so he keeps the rest of us on our toes.

Dave joined our team in 2017. He became a state-certified backflow inspector in 2020 and is excellent at irrigation system troubleshooting. Dave always has a smile on his face (unless you are trying to take his picture) and has a happy-go-lucky personality that makes him fun to work with. When Dave is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and carpentry work.

Kyle joined our team in 2018. He is a quick learner, hard-working, and is always ready to take on a challenge. He has taken on more and more responsibility and is dedicated to learning the ins and outs of the irrigation industry. “What I enjoy most about working at Stork Landscaping is the work relationship I have with Dave and Curtis.” Kyle enjoys spending time with his son and watching him develop his own personality. Some of his hobbies include sous vide, making his own cheese, and woodworking.

Jonathan joined our team in 2020. He goes between landscape and irrigation jobs daily. Because of his willingness to tackle any type of project and being a jack-of-all-trades, Jonathan has quickly become an asset to our company. “I enjoy working at Stork because I am growing my skills and learning new things.” He is a proud father of two beautiful girls and enjoys movies, home improvement projects, and riding his bicycle.
